In its early days from 1893 to 1905 pepsi cola was known as Brads drink and the logo was very simple. The consisted of the words Brads Drink written out with a cowboy style font. After a few years they decided it was time for a change, in the logo that is. THE change completely renamed the company to "pepsi" cola and the logo was just those words written out in a scripture style font. To me this font added a more elegant element to the brand. Fallowing the name change pepsi messed around with a couple variations of there scripture logo until finally agreeing on a nice sleek scripture font that reads pepsi cola. After there simple logos pepsi stared to mess around with a red white and blue bottle cap with a centered pepsi cola. Finally pepsi created a circle withe a light line symbolizing a smile with they still use to this day. The new font to me feels a little flat and to simplistic. I was a bigger fan of there glossy gradient filled originals but hey what the hells my opinion worth?.

Helvetica was originated in Munchenstein Switzerland.
Helvetica means switzerland.
Helvetica was created in 1957.
Modern
Modern, Grunge and post modern
This film showed me that to have a good design it doesn't have to be crazy and over the edge.A nice sleek simple design can work just as good and if not better in some design situation.
"It's The Real Thing. Period. Coke. Period. Any Questions? Of Course Not."- Michael Bierut. To me this quote kind of defines helvetica because it is so simple and straight to the point.

TYPOGRAPHY BRUH
Serif has little accents to add emphasis on parts of letters whereas sans serif is very blocky and clear cut.
Serif works very well for small typing whereas san serif is more commonly used for titles and headers.
!!WARNING!!:To many fonts in a design can spoil the effect
fonts that are to alike tend to cause ambiguity.
All caps are the equivalent of shouting and makes things harder to read.
Left alignment reads easiest, consider eye flow as it moves down a page.
Tools used with discretion
Italics, bold, size, color, typestyle change.
When making something visually pleasing balance is key.
KERN: stupid lil space in between letters
Tracking: different to kerning because it has to do with the entire word. Don't go to far or it could kind of bunch all the words together taking a hit on eligibility.

V Design V
DEsign elements are the basic units of a visual image.
The principles of design govern the relationships of the elements used and organize the composition as a whole.
Elements of design
space - space can exist in 3 or 2 dimensions and can refer to positive or negative space create emphasis
line - can be explicit or implied like making a line from negative space
color
shape - either geometric or organic
texture
value- brings a third dimension to flat shapes
balance
Design Principles
unity- creates a sense of order a consistency in size and shape
variety- different choices in same kinda way
repetition- repeating elements in a design
harmony- similar elements being used and repeated
proximity- used to control and add emphasis
proportion- used to create illusions and different perceptions
functionality -
emphasis- used to create a focal point

understanding graphic file formats
understanding format, choice and image, compressionphotoshop files are not web friendly. convert it to a jpeg or gif png (web friendly file)
all files on a computer are packaged differently.
the format well be decided by where it came from like Photoshop , adobe illustrator or a camera
these philes photo or video can be reduced by using image compression formats.
Graphic image formats fall under 2 categories of compression lossy and lossless
with lossy image data is lost or reduced for smaller file sizes but can cause poor image quality can result in compression artifact
lossless well retain the images data for higher quality and larger files
by compressing images the photo well slowly start to loose its quality.
tif jpg and gif are the three most common file formats.
png is very common on the web..
each format has its advantages and disadvantages
png and gif both have a transparency channel.
TIF (tagged image format)
commonly used for desktop publishing print. photo and graphic design
Tif is a lossless file format meaning it well retain the image data to retain maximum photo quality.
Jpeg stands for joint photographers expert group
it was created for digital photography and works best for photo content.
can reduce an image to 10:1 without showing significant compression artifacts
stricty for dat photos
GIF stands for graphics interchange format
best for images that have flat color or even tone such as a cartoon.
reduces image size by index ing color from 3 channels to 1
not proper for printing
less frames the better
theres two types of pixels contiguous and non contiguous
contiguous are photos with blended color pixels where a non contiguous are nice flat color pics
